This granary holds more than one years consumption for the whole nation. It is the largest remaining granary in Norway. The silos are 70 meters tall and there are storage cellars down to 30 meters below ground. The previous government wanted to demolish it and sell the plot to private investors who would have built luxury flats on the seafront. A farmers cooperative then purchased it for it's intended use, but still it's not safe.
